This was actually used by Neinhart as an advantage, because since they were dead, he could create his own copies not only of Zeref, but of the most powerful August and Irene Belserian to legitimize his rule.

Not surprisingly, no one in Ishgar claimed God Serena’s body, so he was brought back to the Alvarez Empire to be buried.

They had a grand burial ceremony and were buried as heroes. However, not long after that, their civil war broke out.

Ace was here for vengeance, so he really didn’t care about the politics. Thus he immediately headed for the capital.
