Chapter 9 - Secrets Unraveling

Jenny was away as usual today, and Ace was ready to finally resurrect Aceto and maybe Kyoka too.

Aceto and Kyoka lay on two tables, awaiting resurrection.

Using Seilah’s [Macro] curse, he reanimated Hades’ body and got it to cast a resurrection spell on Aceto.

“Please take care of her master. I… I may have made a mistake bringing her back to life” he admitted.

“You what? You brought her back to life? That is very dark magic” said Porlyusica.

“What have you done boy?” asked Makarof

“I will give a full account to you, guildmaster Gildarts and the guild when I get back. I… I’m sorry” Ace said sadly as tears rolled down his eyes.

Then he suddenly got up and disappeared.

Porlyusica rushed to Aceto’s body and found that she had only been sleeping. However, within moments, she woke up and started screaming again.

“This… this really is a dead girl brought back to life. I can sense several magics on her body. How did he do this?” Porlyusica asked.

“I don’t know. He is a requip mage, who invents machines. How can he cast resurrection spells?” Makarof asked out loud.

“I think he’s much more than that. Did you see that teleport spell? He also has the smell of a demon on him” Porlyusica said.

Makarof was stunned. Was that why Natsu said he smelled something different about Ace? What about Jenny? Was she somehow affected too?

Porlyusica managed to calm Aceto down. It took her two days of treatment before Aceto started behaving normally.

She literally came back to life, albeit without memories of her past life. Porlyusica decided to take care of her, teaching her and letting her assist around her house.

In the meantime, Makarof had returned to the guild and informed Gildarts. They had a meeting with all the S class mages, which included Natsu, Gray, Gajeel, Juvia, Kana, Laxus, Mirajane and Erza, and informed them that they were looking for Ace, but keep it low key.

“Ace said that he would be away for two months at least, but it was a personal mission” Mirajane said.

“Two months? What could he be doing?” asked Gray

“Natsu. When you said you smelled something different about Ace, did you smell a demon?” asked Makarof

“Yes. Yes! A demon. In fact, I remember who it is. It’s that Tartaros demon Seilah!” Natsu answered.

“Seilah! Impossible!” echoed Mirajane in shock.

"Look for him, everyone" ordered Gildarts. 

They immediately started searching for him. Their closely allied guilds, namely Mermaid Heel, Blue Pegasus, Sabretooth, Lamia Scale and even Crime Sorciere were informed as well.

Jenny was crying in the Blue Pegasus guild. Hibiki tried to comfort her, but he was rejected.

She had tried to contact him over their device. But he only messaged her “Whatever happens, I will always love you. I will come back for you” it said.

Meanwhile, at Hargeon town, a cloaked figure was walking out of his inn and was headed for the ship to go to the Alvarez Empire.

He sensed that he was being followed, so he walked into a dead end alley.

“Can I help you?” Ace asked, removing his cloak.

“Several of our guilds are looking for you. Could you please follow me back peacefully? Or would you like to fight first?” asked Rufus of Sabretooth arrogantly.

“Rufus, huh. You think you’ve memorized my magic eh?” asked Ace with a sly smile.

“Undoubtedly your requip magic is no match for me” Rufus answered.

“Then sleep” ordered Ace using his [Macro] curse. Rufus was caught unprepared and fell asleep. Ace copied his powers using [Magic Drain]

Right now, he realized that as long as he willed it, he had retained Uosuke’s [Terrain Effect] magic as well as Rustyrose’s [Arc of Embodiment] magic indefinitely. Adding Rufus’ [Memory Make] would make his magic really seem like he was controlling reality.

He put his cloak back on and boarded the ship. Unknown to him, someone else boarded the ship to follow him as well. 

Chapter 8 - Jenny 2

Both Ace and Jenny hid behind rocks as they carefully approached the source of the loud sounds.

Carefully, they found their way to a canyon area which was blasted into a huge crater.

As they observed the fight, they were shocked that it was a battle between two powerful sides.

On one side was the royal Garou Knights, the same knights which attacked Fairy Tail under the royal city in the Abyss Palace.

They consisted of their leader the magical scythe specialist Kama, the plant mage Cosmos, the paper mage Kamika, the strange territory controlling Uosuke, and acid mage Nappa.

On the other side were the remnant members of Grimoire Heart, the imagination mage Rustyrose and nearly indestructible Kain Hikaru.

Both sides looked badly injured in what seemed like a long prolonged battle. They literally had been battling for a long time.

Rustyrose was battling Uosuke, with Rustyrose creating all kinds of creations from his imagination while Uosuke seemed to counter it with all kinds of creations of his own within his territory. Both seemed evenly matched while both managed to severely injure each other.

On the other hand, Kain was taking on the other 4 Garou knights by himself. He had already injured Nappa badly, while he was controlling Kama with his Mr Cursey and attacking Kamika using Kama’s body.

Cosmos’ plants were not hurting Kain at all, and he physically was battering Nappa, whose acid didn’t affect him at all.

“Rustyrose and Kain, two mages that peaked my interest. Rustyrose's [Arc of Embodiment] and Kain's Mr Cursey voodoo dolls are interesting” Ace thought to himself.

“Sleep” he commanded Jenny who immediately fell asleep.

He transformed to Seilah and walked out into the battle.

Using his [Macro] Curse, both sides were like putty in his hands as he commanded them to all sleep.

Both sides suddenly nodded off, falling into a deep sleep where they stood. 

Ace, in Seilah’s guise, walked over to both Uosuke and then to Rustyrose, absorbing their powers using his [Magic Drain]

“How interesting” he said to himself as he created gadgets out of thin air, literally out of his imagination. He suddenly realized that with Seilah’s body, he didn’t feel any drain at all using other people’s magic after copying them using [Magic Drain]. In fact, he still could cast Kyoka's [Absorption] Curse even though he absorbed her power days ago.

He copied all their abilities and even Jenny’s and found that he had exceeded his old limits of 5 people’s magic. There were 8 mages here including Jenny, and he was wielding all their magic without feeling like he reached his limit.

He controlled both Rustyrose and Kain while they were sleeping and commanded them to tell him where Hades’ body was. They said that they found it after fighting and defeating Franmath, who stole it.

Through his interrogation, Ace also found out that the “miracle” mage was Rustyrose all along, as he granted minor miracles to the town folk as he tried to live in peace and seclusion.

However, apparently the Garou Knights still wanted to bring them in for their previous crimes. And thus they ended up battling for days as Rustyrose sought out his old teammate Kain to help him fight off the Garou Knights.

He also took Kain’s 3 Mr Cursey’s and ordered them to flee and join Crime Sorciere. As they were still asleep and only answering him due to using the [Macro] curse, they didn’t remember Ace’s existence at all, only that they somehow managed to escape the Garou Knights.

He picked up Jenny’s body and disappeared. Not long after, the Garou Knights woke up, confused as to what happened. Their prey, both Rustyrose and Kain had disappeared.

Ace rented a hotel room in a town not far away and woke Jenny up.
She woke up, only to see Ace sleeping next to the bed, seemingly exhausted.

“Ace? Ace, wake up! What happened?” she asked him.

He faked waking up and looking extremely happy that she was awake.

“Jenny! You’re… you’re alright?” he asked with tears in his eyes as he hugged and kissed her passionately.

“What happened to me?” she asked.

Ace lied about them both being knocked out by a large explosion. He lied further that he woke up to find her unconscious, so he brought her to a nearby town to recover.

He also explained that Rustyrose was the “miracle” mage, and thus now that he had fled, both of them wouldn’t earn the reward for the mission.

"As long as you are with me, things will always be alright" Jenny smiled with tears in her eyes. 

She kissed him and they made love again.

Days later, they parted back to their individual guilds.

Ace returned and reported that the mission was a failure due to Rustyrose being the miracle mage, and about the battle between Rustyrose and Kain against the Garou Knights.

“Bad luck Ace. It sometimes happens to us too” said Happy

“Especially when Natsu is involved” added Gray

“Hey, whats that supposed to mean?” yelled Natsu

“You know what I mean” Gray answered, his shirt somehow already off.

They started brawling as usual.

Suddenly, Natsu stopped. He approached Ace while sniffing him curiously.

“You smell different” he said suddenly.

Ace frowned. He had been careful to try and change his scent. As before, he changed his diet and grooming habits so that Natsu wouldn’t recognize Velveno’s scent. But now, perhaps Seilah’s demon scent was too strong to hide.

Just then, Blue Pegasus’ flying ship Christina appeared in the airspace with Ichiya at the helm. After speaking grandiosely about parfum, he landed on his head as 4 other members, namely Hibiki, Eve, Ren and Jenny floated down using Ren’s Air Magic.

Jenny ran forwards immediately jumping into Ace’s arms. The members of Fairy Tail were stunned speechless.

The other 4 approached.

“My friends at Fairy Tail. I am afraid that today we have come…” Ichiya started in his camp tone, but Hibiki walked in front of him and interrupted.

“Ace, I challenge you to a duel for the love of Jenny” he said.

“No Hibiki. I am sorry, but it is Ace that I love, not you” she said with tears in her eyes.

Ace himself was conflicted. The Velveno part of him was completely in love with Aceto, and the Seilah part of him only had eyes for Kyoka. However, he himself was already in love with Jenny, even though originally he just wanted her for her body.

“Come on Hibiki. Look at them. You cannot deny that’s true love” Eve said as he patted Hibiki on his shoulder.

“But I have only ever loved Jenny” Hibiki said.

“Hibiki. I know that we don’t know each other very well, as I myself am fairly new to Fairy Tail. But I do love Jenny. Sometimes, you don’t choose who you fall in love with. You just fall in love” Ace said with an honest face.

The rest of Fairy Tail just stood there silently, not saying anything as the whole drama unfolded.

Hibiki gritted his teeth and gripped his fists tightly as tears fell from his eyes. He turned around and walked off whispering to Ren “Take be back”

As Hibiki disappeared back into Christina, Ichiya apologized for the scene.

Gildarts smiled and patted him on the shoulder. “Don’t worry about it. These things happen” he said. .

“So Jenny, what happens now? Are you going to leave us to join Fairy Tail?” Ichiya asked.

Jenny looked conflicted as she looked at Ace, then at Ichiya, not knowing what to say.

“There is no need. Your guild is not far away. We’ll get a place in between. Your guild is your family, so there is no need to give up one for the other. This just makes Fairy Tail and Blue Pegasus relatives” smiled Ace.

Jenny nodded in tears and kissed him in front of everyone.

Christina parted with the other Blue Pegasus members as Ace and Jenny bid their farewells to Fairy Tail to look for a place somewhere in between Magnolia and where Blue Pegasus was located.

With that issue sorted, Ace could now get down to resurrecting Aceto.
